SMS from payphones

Simply a brilliant idea!

Instead of using a payphone to call to a relay operator to relay a message to a deaf user, just use the payphone to send preselected SMS messages:

Vortis to ring changes for the hard of hearing

As a hearing aid wearer, the only way I can use the Cellphone (mine is the Treo 600) is via the speakerphone due to static.

An entrepreneur has figured out how to eliminate static while keeping the cost down.

It will be a boon to a growing market of hearing-aid users.

Newest scam in the deaf community

I’m getting multiple emails with this at the title “Deaf Owned Business — Positive Change for everyone” and I’ve reported those idiots to GDI.

GDI stands for Global Domains International. For $10 a month you get the “priviledge” of selling .ws domain to the unsuspected victims.

I’m a professional webmaster and I’m also a deaf MLMer (though not that active nowadays) so I know how much a webhosting should cost and what they offer.

Take a look at my website - www.deafbiz.com Nice layout, huh? Made possible with Mambo, which is FR EE!

For $10 a month with HostGator, I get the Fantastico package, which includes Mambo and Wordpress, and many more. Professional webmasters are now gravitating toward Mambo and of course if you need a blog, WordPress is the way to go, period! Owning your own domain can be as little as $1.79 via RegisterFly (which I highly recommend). So for $1.79 plus $10 a month, you’re in business and you will NOT be nickled and dimed to death!

If you still want to sell the .ws domain, join Cognigen for Freeeeeee!

In the meantime, I highly recommend that deafies avoid GDI. I’ve been in this business long enough to see immense hype and feeding frenzy every two years.

OnStar TTY help line from GM Canada

So you have a GM car with an OnStar subscription. Now if you need assistance in CANADA, there’s a TTY number to call! No problemo!

What if you’re in the USA? Will you be SOL?

OnStar websites in Canada and USA doesn’t answer this question.

Not smart marketing, IMO.
