I'm a friend of Greg's family, live in California, and am very excited for him. You are right, my fingers are sore after voting for the last few weeks. 
I am not deaf and am rooting for him for many reasons.  One of which is to show that diversity is the spice of life. The show will be much more interesting with him in the running. His being a MidWesterner ( I grew up in Iowa ), doesn't hurt either !!!
